Dust mite allergy and Arizona area?

I have a skin allergy to dust mites. I've heard places like Phoenix and Tucson do not contain dust mites do to the relative humidity being so low. I'm willing to move to either one of these cities to get rid of my skin problem because most of the stuff I try does not work at all well. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true about these two cities? Please help, thanks!!!

Yes the humidity level affects dust mites but there are lots of things you can do before moving. The article that I have linked is excellent.
Reply:We covered our daughter's matress, boxspring and all pillows in plastic and/or special dustmite proof covers we bought at Walmart. We also removed the carpet from her room, covered her register vent and put an oil filled radiant heat unit in her room. She has Asthma really bad and is allergic to Cats, dust, dust mites, trees and pollen.
Reply:Truly, more than likely, you are allergic to the allergens produced by dust mites which are found world-wide, even in the desert. Dust mites thrive and breed in the micro-habitat of our mattresses. Our beds and mattresses provide them with all the "comforts and needs" they require. Under the blankets, our body heat, perspiration and even the moisture from a person exhaling provides them with their very own ideal, little ecosystem habitat where they can feed on the 50 million skin flakes that we shed daily.

Read the free e-book "76 Tips to Reduce Dust Mites and Indoor Allergens" available at the SterilMattress website:

Living dust mites are found all through the house in upholstered furniture, carpeting, pillows, cushions and even stuffed toys. However, the mattresses contain the largest colonies for the reasons noted above. Dead dust mites and dust mite fecal pellets are "weight-wise" light enough to become airborne and settle throughout an entire house. These airborne particulates contain a potent and harmful allergen called "guanine" which, when inhaled, suffocate and kill healthy cells within your lungs.

You must reduce (you cannot kill them all) the dust mite colonies at the #1 source, your mattresses. Reading and utilizing the tips in the e-book will assist you in your problem. The free ebook is not intended as a substitute for a professional mattress cleaning service, which is what you, especially with allergies or those with respiratory illnesses, really, really need. Unfortunately, these services are very difficult to find in the U.S. If you happen to live in Europe, there are now in just the past 12 years or so, about 4500 companies providing this service. Likewise in Australia and some in the Far East.
