Is it possible for humans to shed skin like snakes?

When I got out of the shower this morning, I noticed that my left hand had dead skin on it (mainly on the fingers). At first, I thought that maybe I had been drying my hands to roughly lately, and put some hand lotion on. I have been using the same brand and scent of soap for the past 15 years, so I know it isn't a skin allergy. I've never heard of humans shedding skin like snakes do, but am beginning to wonder. If not, what else can I do to stop the skin from flaking off?

I don't know if this will help, but it looks like skin peeling after a sunburn. No, I haven't burned my hand.

Humans are constantly peeling their skin, not like snakes who do it all at once (they even shed skin from their eyes...ew). The best way to treat that dead skin is to exfoliate it and keep your hands moisturized.
Reply:A human does shed their skin but it is impossible for a human to shed their skin like a snake.
Reply:Humans shed skin about once a month but when the weather is warmer you sometimes shed in larger chunks because your skin is dryer. Maybe drinking more H20 would help your skin hold in some moisture for a less snake-like shedding next month.

You could also try an aloe based lotion. Coco butter is also good for moisture, although some don't like the smell.
