i have a 4 month old papillon and he's been shedding like crazy. i looked online and thought he was loosing his puppy coat. he's alwayz brushing up against the wall and his crate. ( i also read its itchy when they loose their puppy fur). we took him to the vet and he said he was fine and that was expected. i'm concered because he has these little bumps on the bottom of his stomach. his skin is pink but not red or anything and the vet said that was ok too. are the bumps ok? i feed him Fromm family puppy food....what he was being fed since he was weened...and i'm going to gradually change it to natural balance. what are the symptoms of skin allergies? he has no bald spots or anything....no irriated skin and i bathe him once every week and a half. should i be concerned about the little bumps?

My labrador has skin alleries. So, I can just tell you what all she does. When we let her outside she rubs around in the grass. Sometimes giving her too many baths will irritate her skin...so I only give her a bath once a month or longer. The vet noticed she had allergies because she was missing fur on her sides(near stomach) because she had been rubbing in the grass. I think we give her Iams Sensitive Skin %26amp; Coat dog food. Well....anyways its for sensitive skin. But, we cant give her table scraps, or the food wont work. Dog treats are fine, but not alot.
Reply:The main dog food ingredient that dogs are allergic to is Corn, it causes itching. Check your pups food.
